Yet if we are to have any chance of seriously addressing this threat, we need bold and ambitious political leadership now, using the Contraction and Convergence model ensuring that other nations across the world act too in line with their capacity and responsibility. To cut our GHG emissions here in the West by between 80-90% by 2050 we'll need nothing short of a revolution in the way we run our economy, the way we measure human welfare, and the way we produce and consume."
